Catholic Charities is a leading human services organization serving clients in 88 locations throughout the District of Columbia and five Maryland counties. We are currently seeking a Grant Writer to join our northwest Washington, D.C. location. This role will research public and private funding sources for Catholic Charities’ programs, with an emphasis on increasing bottom-line financial performance by targeting under-funded programs. You will research guidelines and deadlines and keep appropriate program managers and directors apprised of funding opportunities. This position will also write proposals for new and recurring grants, donor cultivation and stewardship, grant research, and other fund-raising related activities.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and an understanding of nonprofit fund-raising and development issues. Excellent writing, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills are necessary. Candidates must be PC proficient with extensive experience with Microsoft Office. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are highly desired. Knowledge of the local community and social services sector, familiarity with budgets and knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Raiser’s Edge are strong preferred.
