Grant Writer/Marketing Administrator
ArtCorps is an exciting start-up social enterprise that sends volunteer artists to strengthen international development in Central America. Our volunteers use community arts to educate and inspire people to participate actively in improving the environmental, health, and social conditions in their communities. We partner with organizations such as Wildlife Conservation Society, World Neighbors, and The Riecken Foundation. Since 1999, 29 artists have partnered with 19 organizations to engage over 30,000 people in Guatemala and El Salvador, and we are preparing to double the size of our program over the next two years. The new addition to our staff will make a big impact on our growth.
ArtCorps seeks a part time Grant Writer & Marketing Administrator to advance the organization’s fundraising efforts.
Under the direction of the Executive Director, s/he will
• conduct research on an ongoing basis to identify new potential institutional funders
• write letters of intent and proposals
• gather and prepare summaries of projects in the field to support proposals
• update marketing materials as needed in support of outreach
• prepare grant reports
• perform administrative tasks as needed
• translate materials to/from Spanish as they relate to proposals
• maintain a database of institutional funders & individual donors
• deepen relationships with existing and potential institutional funders
This is a 20 hour part time position (possibility of moving to full time within 6 months) and will be based in Beverly, Ma with the possibility of working remotely part of the time.
Additional Qualifications:
• The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree
• 3-5 years of experience in writing grant proposals
• Ability to read and write in Spanish is ideal
• A commitment to supporting ArtCorps’ mission of using the arts for social action and the ability to be part of a small team in a start-up environment
• Excellent writing skills, specifically the ability to write clear and compelling information in a format accepted by institutional funders
• Demonstrated work experience and track record in raising funds from institutional sources
• Demonstrated organizational skill necessary to track funder relationships and grant activity
• Excellent verbal ability to communicate ArtCorps’ mission and programs
• The ability to synthesize information on a wide range of topics
