EXECUTIVE WRITER
DEVELOPMENT
Would you like to use your writing skills & talents to make New York City a better, more humane place? The Doe Fund is a leading non-profit organization that helps homeless & formerly incarcerated men rebuild their lives despite incredible odds. We are most well-known for our enormously visible and award-winning Ready, Willing & Able program, a workforce development initiative whose participants clean more than 160 miles of streets and sidewalks every day while they rebuild their own lives.
With a $50 million budget, 400+ staff members & more than 46,000 individual donors, we are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated, creative writer to join our special projects & development team. As a writer with a passion for our mission, you will work in collaboration with a highly-motivated & talented development team to significantly increase the $12 million raised currently from private sources.
Requires Bachelor’s degree or higher, superb writing, editing & verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills, ability to persuasively convey our mission to diverse groups (including donors, foundation & corporate executives, board members & community stakeholders), & the ability to write for multiple audiences. You must be able to work/build new relationships with a wide range of people, including influential donors & prospects, & work in an organized manner in a fast-paced deadline environment.
Our Development Office is located in a comfortable & intimate Upper East Side brownstone. We offer competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits package including health & dental insurance, 401(k), & generous vacation policy. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join a well established organization working on the cutting-edge of important social issues.
