Boston Natural Areas Network

The Grant Writer/Coordinator is responsible for writing and coordinating proposals for foundations and other major funders to support the Boston Natural Areas Network, an affiliate of The Trustees of Reservations . The position is a member of the Trustees Advancement team and reports to the BNAN Vice President. The position works with BNAN staff to understand potential and existing programs in need of support, compiles relevant data, develops proposal budgets, and uses gathered information to prepare grant proposals and concept papers, and oversees the submission process. The position is also responsible for working with staff to prepare reports on grants awarded and for maintaining good relations with funders. The position will be responsible for researching and discovering new resources for funding.
This is a 19 hour part time position and will be based in downtown Boston at BNAN’s Summer St. office.
Additional Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in writing grant proposals with an increasing record of success; the ability to synthesize information on a wide range of topics including ecology, landscape stewardship and historic resources; and the ability to work under pressure. Excellent writing and oral communications skills, interpersonal skills, computer skills, and organization skills are essential. The proven ability to take initiative while working as part of a team is important.
