Write Better Grants. Make More Money.

Free Money - at a Price

Q: All over the Internet I see advertisement for free grants that the government has set aside for individuals. How can I get my share of the purse?

A: These advertisements embody the elusive dream of getting something for nothing and prey on people’s willingness to believe it is possible. Quite frankly, the only person making this “free” money is the guy who is selling the bogus information. There are no such things as free grants.

Grants money is available for individuals, non-profits, businesses, schools, government agencies, visionaries, students and others, but it is not free. First of all, researching, planning and writing a grant is a lot of work, and can take weeks, months, and even years. Secondly, once you receive a grant, you are under both legal and moral obligation to do what it is that you said you would. Thirdly, you may be required to report on your progress to the funder, which can also be very time consuming.
